Doula Support Services  "For a Better Birth Experience"
	The doula will stay with the mother throughout the entire Labor Assists the mother during labor by applying learned techniques. These techniques include emotional support as well as physical support. Contacts the mother before the birth and explains her role Answers questions that the mother and partner may have Assists the father/partner and explains how they can be of assistance Anticipates the mother's needs and attends to them Is a source comfort to the mother and partner Encourages in time of need Explains procedures to help the parents make more informed decisions Does NOT make decisions for the parents Does NOT talk to the hospital staff for the parents Makes a follow-up contact after the birth to check on mother and baby
